Michaela is a professional Ski Patroller and Mountain Guide from Deer Lake, Newfoundland. Michaela has raced and volunteered all over North America in distances ranging from 50k to 200 miles. Her favorite races have sent her running through 100 miles of extreme cold in the Alaskan Arctic, through 100 miles of desolate heat in the Moab Desert and through 200 miles of steep alpine in the Cascade Mountain Range. Michaela is also an avid bikepacker, having solo biked 4000km through the Chilean and Argentinean Andes. She started running as a way to become a better mountaineer and climber and in the process fell in love with the sport. She REALLY likes dogs.

Communications/Volunteer Coordinator- Alan Perkins
volunteer@nlmountainrace.com
Alan is a Sports Management Graduate from Brock University. He's been working events such as the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and Canada's Walk of Fame over the past 4 years. Having recently discovered a passion for running, Alan decided that the ultra community is one he'd invest his time in. Alan has been involved in races spanning across Ontario and the USA, and has further trail running experience across Canada. Having come from a background in college baseball (attending junior college in New York state to do so), his journey into ultrarunning has been anything but straightforward. Using his expertise and education in the sport industry, Alan hopes to make a lasting impact in the running community.
